I've neglected this journal for years in favour of GJ. It would seem that as I had predicted long ago, GJ is on the verge of imploding, so I shall follow the exodus back to LJ. The irony of course is that I had predicted this would happen before originally moving, but the lure of almost limitless icons was too much to resist.

Girl's Diary Saw kev in the evening and he was acting really strangely. I went shopping in the afternoon with the girls and I did turn up a bit late so I thought it might be that. The bar was really crowded and loud so I suggested we go somewhere quieter to talk. He was still very subdued and distracted so I suggested we go somewhere nice to eat.
We had dinner but he just didn't seem himself - he hardly laughed, and didn't seem to be paying any attention to me or to what I was saying. I just knew that something was wrong. He dropped me back home and I wondered if he was going to come in. He hesitated, but followed. I asked him again if there was something the matter but he just half shook his head and turned the television on. After about 10 minutes of silence, I said I was going upstairs to bed. I put my arms around him and told him that I loved him deeply. He just gave a sigh, and a sad sort of smile.
He didn't follow me up, but later he did, and I was surprised when we made love. He still seemed distant and a bit cold, and started to think that he was going to leave me, and that he had found someone else.
I cried myself to sleep.
Guy's Diary Couldn't go shooting today, damn bad weather. Got a shag though. |

Tell me Mr. anderson, what good is a phone call if you're unable to speak?

You hear that, Mr. Anderson? That is the sound of inevitability. It is the sound of your death. Goodbye, Mr. Anderson. |

| [ | music |
| | slipknot - duality | ] | And before you know it's Monday again. It's been a reasonably good weekend. Friday night went out but the mood was somewhat too mellow, had a few pints at Coconut then fucked off home.
Saturday turned out to be the similar. I found out I didn't have work after all, so spent the morning testing my latest project - worked perfectly, but power is on the low side - then again, the rather pathetic foot pump (which I eventually managed to break) was only churning out about 80 psi. I really need to buy a compressor. In the evening went to pville, we were all hyped out to get drunk, but ended up stuck at Coconut watching the bleedin' Eurovision vote count and the mood fizzled out, so we bought icecream and beer and went to meet up with con_foozled at the torri. Which was quite amusing, didn't stay long though.
Sunday afternoon we went for our first swim this year, at Golden Bay. Remarkably pleasant, there were far less people than we expected and the water (once you get about 20 metres from the shore) was surprisingly fresh and clear.
( beach photos )
Got messages from most of the work klikka who were getting drunk in Bugibba, but alas I had left my wheels at home so was unable to join them. After the beach went to my house briefly to freshen up then went to eat at Koppla. Excellent food but it must be sprinkled with lethargy, we were so full by the end of it that we decided to call it a day. I slept quite early, and woke up correspondingly early this morning.
Work 12:30 - 10:30 today. Bleh. |

| | tricarico - io sono francesco | ] | Woke up tired this morning, little knowing I was in for a real STD-infested-two-penny-whore of a shift. I hardly had time for my break. Got home wasted but strangely relieved. Must be the weekend Factor. Pville tonight, seems everyone is keen on getting at least slightly drunk. Yeah, why not. Been a while anyway. Might meet the work klikka as well. My attention span is getting shorter. Curse you MTV. I don't watch TV much anymore. Not even the violence laden news bulletins I used to be such an avid fan of. Scribbled a few things down, it should work - how efficiently is another matter, I guess there's only one way to find out. I don't know how I came to the conclusion that playing Max Payne is somehow a substitute for spending time at my workbench. The weather's getting hotter, I still wear a T-shirt around the house. I don't think my parents can really digest the scars. Vive l'AC. Methinks I need a cocktail of music and mechanical mayhem before I go out. *click CLICK*. |

| | Puscifer - Rev 22:20 | ] | And so begins another week of work. Things are going to get intense in a few days, one of my coworkers is leaving so it'll be overtime galore until they employ and train a replacement. Joy. Ah well, I could certainly use the spare cash.
Yesterday woke up rather sick, throbbing headache and upset stomach - probably related to the copious amounts of alcohol consumed on Saturday night. I met the work klikka, hope I didn't say anything silly. It got better though, collected Stef, Van and Ed and we went for a dawra, ended up navigating our way through the rocky countryside around Gnejna. After that collected Steffy and we went to eat in pville, after which Stef, Van and I went to my house for a few episodes of Family Guy, hilarious :)
I finally started work on one of my little projects, coming along nicely - should be ready for testing in a couple of days *crosses fingers and various other appendages* - and once it's done, there's a couple more scribblings I'd like to flesh out. |

| | caparezza - vengo dalla luna | ] | Work was ok yesterday, followed by what has now become the traditional afternoon nap. I went to Birgu in the evening, the performance was enjoyable - very much the alternative style of theatre and visuals. After that I was meant to go meet the others in pville but Simone insisted I join her for a ftira to catch up on old times. I ended up getting home at two in the morning, she hasn't changed a bit :-/ that self contemplative monologue... ah well, I hadn't seen her in months, I didn't have the heart.
On a different note, it's FRIDAY YAAAAA!!!!
The others will be going to Valletta to view the EU celebrations/get totally fishmuzzled. Not too enthusiastic meself. I woke up with a headache, odd.
Off to earn my daily bread. Lead us not into temptation... |

I wasn't really in the mood, we went down to O'Caseys for a quiet pint... well, "quiet", until the karaoke started. Didn't stay long, it wasn't a lot past midnight when I got home.
This weekend there's the EC live-in, where all the new groupleaders are indoctrinated. I would have been there as Headgroupleader :-/ ah well. I think we'll visit on Friday afternoon. Stefan will appreciate it.
On Saturday, however... Steph (of work) asked if I'll be joining "them" (the work klikka) again in pville any time soon, and Saturday sounds just about perfect. Only, this time, unless everyone else is getting fishmuzzled, I'm staying sober :)

| | korn - make me bad | ] | Work wasn't as bad as I expected yesterday. More of the same today, another 200 tons of sugar - the pattern for the rest of the week, but after that no more sugar deliveries for months :D The warehouse is almost full, having three forklifters dancing around eachother in an ever decreasing space is becoming quite entertaining to watch - from a reasonable distance, of course.
I spoke to Steph (the one from work) briefly, somewhat ashamed of my (reported - I don't remember shite) actions on saturday night, but she laughed it off and said I had been rather amusing - ah well, what's new. How sweet she is marelli.
Last night we went to M'scala for a drink, twas ok, the mood was good. and for a change, we met early so I was home by half ten, which meant I could still catch up on some sleep.
I'm working on a few designs, I think I'll be out purchasing some raw materials today after work.
I didn't hear from her yesterday. So I didn't bother attempting to visit.
Anyways, I've just spent the time I had allocated this morning for an overdue shave online, so I'm running late.

| | simon & garfunkel - the sound of silence | ] | I got so drunk last night, made the small mistake of drinking considerably more than anyone else on an empty stomach.
Picked Stef & Joseph up with sis in tow, we went to Coconut where Steffy eventually joined us, sans Van who had a party of her "virgin friend".
Saw psycho_female and met mcfonk (who I had never actually met in person) as well as kyr, whose departure we will be mourning tonight at the same venue. After lots of beer, moved on to Empire. The mood was good, I was actually dancing (or rather as close to dancing as I can manage) and still drinking. By now I was pretty inebriated but still relatively straight, and I decided to message my work colleagues to see if they were in pville so I'd stop by and say hi. They were at Zanzibar, it was great, but they bought me more drinks and *huppp* - I decided I was officialy zibelharamejjet, somehow met the rest of the gang in front of al pacino. I vaguely remember flushen marwiel then meeting sis, at which point I decided it was time to go home so we went to the car, where I chilled until I was in a state to reach the comfort of my bed safely.

Ed: (pointing to plank) is this a ladder for people with very small feet?
Matt: It's a plank.
Me: Hence the expression "to walk the plank" - you tie a leash on it and take it for a walk
Matt: But it has no legs, so really you take it for a drag - which might lead to the plank, somewhat offensively, demanding "Are you taking me for a drag?"
cheers Matt, you made my afternoon :) |

| The Passion of the Edward |
[Apr. 9th, 2004|08:36 pm] |
Currently at Stefan's house, we've just been to see Ed trundle around in the company of 9 other individuals with the vara of Christ getting whipped at the pillar.
Pertinent.
I met her this morning at 11, the sun was far too bright, we went to the coast road place and found shade on one side of the tower. Eventually with the inevitable progress of time, the shade moved to the other side, so moved the car, but in the process it dislodged a stone and... well, got stuck. Luckily some guy with his yellow tiger striped landy happened to pass by and towed it back.
I really should have worn my shirt before asking for assistance, he was speaking to my chest in a very weirded out manner.
Ah well.
Steffy's watching some disgustingly american soap opera thingy, not sure what's happening after that. |

After getting some long overdue sleep, went to pville last night, met up with the usual clique - we went to the playground for some cheap alcohol in limited amounts, the intention was to add some social lubricant but i was quite mellow - in the event we went to Alley where gianni was playing live. Not my favourite of performers but he put on a good show. Eventually i left, i still had some sleep vouchers to redeem :)
Work was ok, and best of all, I don't have to think about it again until 6:30 on Monday morning :D
No idea what's happening today.
Sunday will mean the traditional visit to nanna in Gozo, where the highlight of the event will be her amazing dish of rabbit :) *salivates briefly* - or i could of course, not go, incur the wrath of my family but gain some "empty house" time.
The mind boggles.
